So what is a Saturn Return?!

Your Saturn return is one of the most pivotal moments in your astrological journey—an initiation into adulthood, regardless of how old you are. This event occurs approximately every 29.5 years when Saturn completes its orbit and returns to the same position it was in when you were born.

So if your late 20s early 30’s you might be in the thick of this cosmic rite of passage or it’s post phase shadow. Saturn, the planet of discipline, structure, and time, is circling back to where it was when you were born, demanding you get real about your life choices.

For many, the Saturn return feels like a cosmic wake-up call, nudging (or shoving) you to confront your biggest fears, release what’s no longer serving you, and step into a more authentic version of yourself. You might find yourself asking, “Is this the life I really want?” as you question everything from your relationships and where you live, to your career. And while the process isn’t always easy, those who lean into Saturn’s tough-love lessons often emerge with a deeper sense of purpose and clarity.

Think of your Saturn return as a crossroads, a moment when you’re being asked to get serious about your true path. Whether it’s letting go of old habits, committing to something (or someone) meaningful, or reimagining what success looks like, this is the time to redefine your reality on your own terms. Ready or not, Saturn’s here to push you toward a new chapter—one that aligns with who you’re meant to be.

Key Themes One Might Encounter During Saturn Returns

1. Life Evaluations and Big Decisions:

You may find yourself reevaluating your career, relationships, or life goals. This is a time when you feel a strong urge to align your life with your true purpose.

2. Challenges, Lessons, & Tests:

Saturn is known as the taskmaster of the zodiac. Its return often brings challenges meant to test your resolve and help you grow. You might face obstacles that push you out of your comfort zone.

3. Ending Old Cycles:

The Saturn return often marks the end of old habits, relationships, or patterns that no longer serve your growth. It’s a time of letting go and making space for new beginnings.

4. Increased Responsibility:

Saturn is about structure, so during this period, you may feel the need to build a more solid foundation in your life, whether that’s through financial stability, committing to a long-term relationship, or settling into a career path.

5. Self-Identity and Purpose: You may experience a shift in how you see yourself and your role in the world. Your priorities and values may become clearer, leading you to make decisions that align more with who you truly are.

Some people describe the Saturn Return as a "tower moment", a sudden shift in reality that someone may experience. It can also refer to the tarot card "The Tower", which is often associated with sudden change, danger, and crisis.

It is for this reason that the card itself visually looks so unnerving. But it doesn't necessarily have to be truly frightening or ominous. Because at the heart of this card, its message is foundational, groundbreaking change. I love this energy because of my Sagittarius Sun but also because this is what I came here for. To help not only Earth and The Collective at this time but also individuals experiencing Awakening and big transitions. The is my area of expertise and activation.

“I always say in every moment you have a choice to ride the ride with your hands up and let go or grip and grab anything you can in fear and scream and fight your way through it.”

So a tower moment is truly about breaking down the prison that you have built up around yourself so it can come crashing down, whether you are or not.

These types of transitions are best I feel with support and a consistent community. Many times having a core group of people or supports that know what is going on in your life that you can be really real with it… yes like the REAL WORLD, a place where you can go where people stop being polite...and start getting real. We just do it with less drama and judgment and lots more love to develop deeper connection. Do not fear the sudden and disruptive change, for change is necessary. Remember that the Universe will not allow us to stay forever imprisoned in our tower of illusion and repression. If we cannot free ourselves peacefully, then the forces of life will arrange an explosion for us. Freedom, liberation and new beginnings are only possible once we break down the old walls and barriers that used to hold us back. You always get to choose how you respond to anything that arises.

The kind of event that the Tower card marks does not have to be something terrible, like a disaster or a great loss.  Change itself is a normal part of life that one has to embrace. But it can sometimes strike fear, for it means that we must abandon the truths that we have known prior to this event. The old ways are no longer useful, and you must find another set of beliefs, values and processes to take their place.
