Self-Reflection in 7 Steps: A Mini Practice for Realignment
When life feels a little too loud—or you just need to come back to yourself—this 7-step self-reflection practice is here to support you. Think of it as a gentle check-in to explore how you’re really feeling, what’s underneath it, and what your body and soul might be asking for.
This is a blend of mindfulness, values-based inquiry, and everyday magic. Bring a journal, an open heart, and a willingness to meet yourself right where you are.
1. Create space.
Find a quiet, cozy spot where you won’t be interrupted. Light a candle if that feels good. Breathe. Set the intention to show up honestly.
2. Drop into your body.
Close your eyes and scan from head to toe.
– What’s present for you right now—emotionally, physically, energetically?
– Where do you feel that in your body?
Let it be what it is. No fixing. Just noticing.
3. Get curious.
– What might be contributing to these feelings?
– Are they rooted in your truth—or shaped by expectations, fear, or pressure?
Trace it back. Meet yourself with compassion.
4. Ask: What do I need?
– What is your body, heart, or spirit longing for right now?
– Are there needs that haven’t been met? Boundaries that feel shaky?
Let the answers rise from within.
5. Make a micro-shift.
Is there a small way you can honor what you discovered?
– A moment of rest. A walk in nature. A text to someone who gets you.
– A “no” you’ve been meaning to say.
Tiny actions, big alignment.
6. Reflect on what changed.
– How do you feel now compared to when you started?
– What insight surprised you? What truth surfaced?
Let yourself be witnessed—by you.
7. Close with gratitude.
For showing up. For feeling. For listening. For choosing to come home to yourself.
